EducationI have a B.A. degree in Art with an emphasis in Art History and a minor in Psychology; I held a 3.6 GPA throughout my 4 years at CSU Bakersfield, and I also held a California Certified Substitute Teaching License from Feb 2011-2012.
ExperienceIn high school I was an AP student, belonged to various academic and social clubs, and qualified for the Honors Program at CSUB. Due to the economic climate at the time I earned my substitute teaching license, I was unable to break into the already overflowing pool of substitute teachers in my area, therefore I did not seek to renew my license. However, I love inspiring a love of learning throughout the coursework of a student's career and am very passionate about promoting a love of academics and, therefore, lifelong learning. I think it is essential to make a subject interesting and fun enough to hook a young mind into delving into the mysteries of history, the convoluted pathways of psychology, and the flowery prose that populates the field of creative writing and poetry.
HobbiesI am an avid animal lover with two rescue dogs, a cat, and a rabbit at home. As a former art student, I am extremely passionate about art in all its various medias, design, fashion, and creative writing. I am also an amateur philosophy student, and avid psychology buff. I love to read anything from YA to classical literature. I relate easily to students of all ages and love to make things fun; because if you're not having fun, it's not worth doing!
