Experience
I am currently a Student Teacher in a 3rd grade class at Orchard Elementary in Vacaville, CA. I observe the resident teacher, help with individual students and small groups, and create my own lessons to teach the students. Prior to this I worked as a University Tutor in the Learning Center of Pioneer High School, in Woodland, CA, where I tutored students in the center or in their classrooms. Some of the subjects I tutored students in are all levels of English, algebra, geometry, chemistry, biology, earth science, health, history. I would also work with students in preparing them for college. This included proofreading and editing scholarship essays, assisting with FAFSA, SAT, and ACT applications. Thus in addition to being a tutor, I was a mentor for the students I worked with. During the last year I also worked as a Youth Coordinator for an after school program, during which I supervised 10-15 students after school. I helped them with homework assignments K-6 and created a fun and engaging learning environment for the remainder of the program. I currently have 3 piano students that I tutor on a daily basis and 2 that I teach once a week. I have work in a Special Needs classroom (4-6) and with students who are in mainstream classrooms but have IEP and/or 504 plans, or are in GATE. I have been working with students from preschool through high school seniors for over 5 years. I understand that all learners are different and know that the same approach does not work for all students. Despite this, I strongly believe that everyone can learn, given the right tools and the right environment. As a tutor, I believe I can play a significant part in providing your child with these tools and this environment.

Hobbies
In my spare time, I love to READ. You might, oh how boring and dull, but honestly reading is one of my all time favorite things to do! I never leave my house without a book and I have a huge collection of all of my favorite books. When I'm not reading, I do love to hike and travel! One of my favorite trails is Alamere Falls, just north of San Francisco. And of course, I love to work with kids. That is my true passion, and it's why I'm currently in the Credential Program at UC Davis! :)
