Before starting UC Davis as an ACS Chemistry major, I was a part of the science and math tutoring group that helped elementary students. Throughout high school, and even into college, I continued tutoring and working with peers to help them with their studies. I love math. It is important to me as a science major and, indeed, important to many areas of academic life. In my experience tutoring, I've known students to be intimidated by math. It's frustrating to some, leading them to avoid it or to not try very hard. My goal as a math tutor has always been to instill confidence in students about what they can achieve. I firmly believe that students can gain satisfaction from understanding math, or any subject for that matter. Learning can, and should, be fun. Once you overcome the fear, you can go on to master any subject.When I'm not studying or tutoring other students, I like exploring different types of music and reading. As a self-proclaimed foodie, I am always on the lookout for different recipes that I am eager to cook for friends.
